Stilt dancing, or "Mocko Jumbie" dancing originated in the continent of Africa. It is a high energy, spiritual, cultural dance that is usually performed at Caribbena carnivals, festivals, and special events. Mocko Jumbie dancing has become a true symbol of Caribbean carnivals ever since it was introduced to the island.
